MIGRATION

Tucked away on the west abutment of the George Grant Bridge on Goldie St. “Migration” is the second mural created by Libre Gutiérrez during the “Art In Action” project in August and September of 2018. Gutiérrez travelled to Paisley from Mexico City for this project. “Migration” shares the story of human migration across the globe, but more specifically within Central America and Mexico. “Coyotes” are people who assist migrants on their journey through Mexico, often in search of better working conditions and safer places to raise families. Libre uses the Coyote animal imagery to create a visual story of human migration where communities, culture and traditions seek new homes.
